Scranton Prep’s school newspaper, The Cavalier Chronicle,
presents students with the opportunity to write for a real publication.
Released once every month, the paper is filled with up-to-date
school news, reviews, polls, games, and sports.
If writing isn’t your thing, there are other ways to get
involved with the paper.
Students are needed for photography,
editing, proofreading, and layout.
In the past few years The Cavalier Chronicle has been growing!
Not only do we release eight issues and two special editions each
year, but for the 2004-2005 school year we also added a bulletin
board outside of the cafeteria. Aside from newspaper meetings
and deadlines, the bulletin board also displays sporting events,
school functions, and a monthly birthday board. On the fourth
floor, we now boast a newly-renovated newspaper office. Painted
and wallpapered by our own staff, the office has become a beehive
of activity – especially as the deadlines approach!
Among the most popular features are the horoscopes and the “Yay
or Nay” column, where two students debate a controversial
issue, such as cell phone use and the 2004 presidential election.
We are always looking for fresh ideas and feedback! If you have
any questions or would like more information about The Cavalier
Chronicle, contact us anytime at PrepNews@email.com.
